What to Expect

Our Tree Removal Process

Tree removal is complex and relies on several steps to ensure safe and quick removal. Different regions in the Seattle and Everett areas have differing regulations surrounding tree removal, and Seattle’s Tree Code has strict conditions that must be met to legally remove trees. You can trust Pelton Tree Care to abide by these requirements and provide safe, quality solutions to your needs.

01

Arborist Evaluation

As arborists, we strive to avoid cutting down trees unless necessary. With our experience and education, we can work with you to improve your tree’s health and safety through professional trimming, bracing, fertilization, soil management, and insect and disease control.

However, we know not every tree can be saved. Sometimes, trees are too diseased or dilapidated to improve through management techniques, or they pose a risk to your property or family. In these cases, we will get a tree removal permit and will use industry best practices to remove your tree.

02

Choose the Appropriate Tree Removal Method

Once a permit is granted, we will then work with you to determine the best method for removing your tree. This depends on several considerations including the tree’s species, its location in the landscape, its condition, and the time of year.

1 Climbing Tree Removal

Our team of trained climbers and riggers will remove your tree in sections using chainsaws which are then lowered to the ground. In many cases, this method is more efficient and cost-effective than crane removal and can be used in hilly areas.

2 Crane Operated Tree Removal

This method is used to when removing a tree off a cliff, when a low-impact method is preferred, or to remove trees over a house or structure. This method results in minimal landscape disturbance but is limited by accessibility to the tree.

03

Stump Grinding

Our team will remove your stump same-day as removing the tree, if desired. Some clients choose to keep their stumps. Once we’ve removed all the material and grinded your stump, we’ll clean up any debris and leave your property looking like there was never a tree there to begin with!
